The sky watched over the canyon

This work emerges from a journey to Canyon de Chelly, where I found myself translating the experience of that sacred landscape onto canvas. Through block printing techniques, I’ve layered surfaces to create a rhythmic interplay between earth and sky. This palette directly from the canyon’s natural chromatics: the vast Southwestern sky, weathered sandstone walls, and symbols that recorded stories across centuries. Patterned blocks suggest geometric forms found in Diné and Persian traditions.
